How do you stay motivated?
I’m afraid I haven’t touched my keyboard in at least a month. Mind you, I am in the early stages of pregnancy and
the second time around is not a smooth as the first. Being all day sickness, ALL DAY!!! Ugh, not plesant. Though
I’m hoping this means I’m having a girl as I’ve already got a son, and that would be the ideal balance. But so long
as both my babies are happy and healthy.
Anyway, motivation? I just can’t seem to sit and write these days. I’m afraid this means that I’m not really meant to
be a writer. That thought devastates me. That’s all I’ve thought about since my first year in high school. From that
moment I wrote sweet teen romances in little A5 notebooks and passed them around to my friends who’d write
comments in that back. (Wonder if I can find them somewhere?)
I find I’m always super motivated after reading a good book or going to a library chat.
What motivates you? What are some techniques that I can try? Am I not meant to me a writer do you think?

Hey Natasha - CONGRATS on the news. Hope you feel better soon. Oh, and if you don't get the girl, having 2 boys is wonderful :o)
Natasha,
Doll, do you think this difficult pregnancy could have something to do with your lack of writing mojo right now?
If this helps, I wasn't pregnant, but I didn't write for almost 8 months last year. Nothing. Nada. Not a word. It came back with a vengeance late last fall. i've completed two mss since then.
Of course you're cut out to be a writer, and stop beating yourself up.

Hi!
I had a bub Christmas Eve, number 3. I wrote almost nothing for 8 months. All day sickness just sapped my creative energy. It was a struggle to get through the day. However that disappeared when I had her. I've written 2 stories since, despite the sleep deprivation!
I get motivated by reading, too. Or after a writer's conference. :)
Congrats on the baby, Natasha! Sometimes your inner genius runs away, I know mine does sometimes. Take a break. You probably need it! To stay motivated, I brainstorm with my crit partner. We throw ideas at each other can usually produce something! :-)
